Dark circles -Identify, Treat and Prevent.

We all have dark circles because of one or the other reasons. Identify, Treat, and prevent irrespective of your gender. We got everything in one place. Here is how you can identify.

Clean your face, lift your undereye skin-

- If your dark circle is more of a blue/ violet color, it is a vascular dark circle caused by the congestion of the lymphatic and vascular vessels.

- If it is a dark brown/black color, this is due to a localized build-up of pigments, meaning that it is a pigmented dark circle.


Bluish Dark Circles

CAUSE:

  • Lifestyle

  • Lack of sleep/ suffering from allergies/ nasal decongestion /stressed out.

  • Microcirculation.


Violet-Reddish Dark Circles

CAUSE:

  • Aging/genetics

  • Visible blood vessels.

  • As skin ages it becomes thinner, making blood vessels more visible.


Brownish-Black Dark Circles

CAUSE:

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Found mostly in Medium to darker skin tones.

Dark and Shadowy Under Eye Circles

CAUSE:

  • Loss of facial volume

  • Valley between eyes and check pads


Preventions

Prevention is better than cure. Here is how you can prevent dark circles:-

1.Try to ease your stress.

2. Healthy lifestyle with proper diet.

Eating foods that are rich in iron and vitamin c.

(Dried beans, dried fruits, eggs (especially egg yolks), iron-fortified cereals, liver, lean red meat, oysters, poultry, salmon, tuna, and whole grains are rich in iron. Include citrus fruits, tomatoes, peppers, melon, and spinach for vitamin C.)

3.Replace your eye products every six months.

4. Wearing sunglasses and sunscreens, will protect from harmful sun rays.

5. Always remove makeup gently.

6.Sleep for 8 hours.

7.Elevate your head with a few pillows to prevent fluid from pooling under the eyes.

8.Lessen your hours in front of gadgets or pollution.

9.Chhose right under eye creams -repairing oils like jojoba oil or sunflower oil or creams containing vitamin C and vitamin K or retinol.

10.Mediation.


Treatment

  • Puffiness-Wrap ice cubes in a cloth and keep on your eyes for 20 minutes.

  • Puffiness- Chill potatoes juice keep for 20 mins.

  • Use cold tea bags to shrink blood vessels for 10 mins.

  • For Lightening- Apply cold milk. Keep it for 20 mins. Do these thrice a week.

  • For Anti-inflammatory -Apply aloe vera keep it for10 mins.

  • Sensitive skin- Rose and milk for 20 mins.

  • Chill cucumber- apply for 5 mins.

  • Sagging blue tones-Mixing mint leaves juice with ¼ teaspoons turmeric. Keep it for 20 mins.

  • Lightening -Mix tomatoes juice mix ½ tsp of lemon juice and 2 tsp of gram flour. This is not advisable for sensitive skin.

Note:-After applying always wash with cold water.

  • Dryness-Moisturiser with oil or good quality moisturizer.

  • Argan oil -lines and sun damage wrinkles.

  • Jojoba oil-for uneven skin

  • Coconut Oil is inadvisable as it clogs the pores.


MAKEUP: -

Makeup is a temporary solution for concealing your dark circles. Here is how you should go about it: -

  • Pick the right concealer

If you have the Dark bluish circles' choose yellow-toned concealers on the other hand if you have Red dark circles go for green-toned concealers.

Concealers should be creamy and of lighter shade then it will blend easily and brighten your undereye area.

  • Apply it in the right way

Use a soft concealer brush or beauty blender.

Apply in lines, blend, and set with translucent powder.
